BOOM Esports becomes the winner of Dota 2 BTS Pro Series Season 9 SEA with a dominant performance. After an exciting tournament, the Polaris Esports and BOOM Esports reached the Grand Finals where they competed for the champion spot of the BTS Pro Series Season 9. BOOM Esports had a wonderful run throughout the tournament and did not drop even one game in the playoffs.

Polaris Esports on the other hand had to battle other teams throughout the Lower Bracket since the beginning of the playoffs. After winning 4 best of 3 match series, they reached the Grand Finals. Here is how the Grand Finals went down.

1st Match

Polaris Esports went with Undying, Dragon Knight, Legion Commander, Snapfire, and Naga Siren on the Radiant side. BOOM Esports picked Razor, Enchantress, Lina, Timbersaw, and Nyx Assassin on the Dire side. Both teams picked off their rivals from the early game. But the BOOM Esports’ heroes, especially Lina, Timbersaw, and Razor were always ahead in Net worth from Naga Siren, Legion Commander, and Dragon Knight from the Polaris side.

This could be seen in their damage output as they were always able to burst down Polaris’s heroes during team fights. Timbersaw was phenomenal and proved to be the main performer from BOOM’s side with a 13/3/2 KDA by the end of the game. The match ended at the 27th minute after BOOM was able to wipe out 4 members of Polaris leaving only Undying at the base.

2nd Match

BOOM Esports picked Spectre, Rubick, Pangolier, Snapfire, and Clockwerk in the Radiant side. Polaris Esports took Dark Willow, Batrider, Nyx Assassin, Mars, and Morphling for the Dire side. Although BOOM was ahead in kills since the early game, the Morphling on Polaris was the only one who kept them in the game against BOOM’s aggression.

Morphling had the highest net worth throughout the game and punished BOOM’s heroes whenever they made a mistake. BOOM found it hard just to push the Polaris lanes. The game ended after 1 hour and 2 minutes with BOOM’s carry Spectre finally wiping out the Polaris side and closing it with a 64-42 kill score.

3rd Match

For the 3rd match, Polaris Esports picked Snapfire, Monkey King, Magnus, Grimstroke, and Void Spirit on the Radiant side. BOOM Esports had Razor, Windranger, Pangolier, Ember Spirit, and Bane on the Dire side. Polaris was able to get an early game lead through kills but BOOM farmed patiently, waiting for their heroes to get their crucial items before starting team fights.

Polaris tried to use their high mobility heroes Monkey King and Void Spirit to push forward but Razor, Ember Spirit, and Pangolier were able to catch them. After doing it again in the 37th minute, BOOM was able to close the game with a 37-23 kill score.

Conclusion

Although Polaris Esports had a nice run in the Lower Bracket, they were not able to carry this momentum in the Grand Finals and will finish as the runners-up. BOOM Esports have successfully defended their champion spot by defeating Polaris 3-0 in the best of 5 series. They are the winners of the Dota 2 BTS Pro Series Season 9: Southeast Asia.
