BLG advances to MSI 2023 Grand Finals by crushing Korea’s last hope T1 in the Lower Bracket – After the win over Gen.G yesterday, Bilibili Gaming gained respect among League of Legends fans. Yet many people still expected them to fall under the might of T1’s star-studded roster today. But BLG proved everybody wrong again by crushing T1 on the 11th day of the Bracket Stage at Mid-Season Invitational 2023.

Here are today’s highlights of the series between the two teams.

BLG advances to MSI 2023 Grand Finals by crushing Korea’s last hope T1 in the Lower Bracket

On May 20, LPL and LCK’s second seeds (Bilibili Gaming and T1 respectively) faced off against each other at the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational.

Game 1

We saw clinical performances from both teams since the first game of the series. Despite BLG taking a lead in the early game, T1 was able to almost make a comeback. The LCK second seed played patiently and secured map objectives to get control of the game.

T1 almost managed to turn the tables but BLG’s Elk carried his team across the finish line. He punished T1’s over-aggressive push, rushed forward to their nexus, and successfully destroyed it. The victory came in 43 minutes and BLG took the lead in the series.

Game 2

Riding on the previous game’s momentum, BLG had an easier time securing this game too. Not only did BLG have a superior draft and execute their plays quite well, but T1 also made many mistakes that allowed the LPL second seed to run away with the game.

Game 3

With their backs against the wall, T1 picked up their comfort champions in this game to stop BLG’s momentum. And they were even successful in doing so. All T1 players stepped up their gameplay to shut down BLG in team fights and finally get a win in the series.

Game 4

After the loss, BLG moved back to playing their traditional style against T1. It helped them gain an early lead which they were able to somehow maintain throughout the game. There were moments of brilliant plays from T1 that allowed the LCK second seed to get toe-to-toe with BLG.

Unfortunately, BLG corrected their mistakes quickly and played cautiously to prevent themselves from falling into T1’s traps. It helped them to ultimately win the game and the series by 3-1.

With this victory, Bilibili Gaming moves to the Grand Finals of the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational where they will face fellow LPL regional team JDG. It will be a rematch of the LPL Spring 2023 finals. This loss kicks T1 out of the tournament and ended LCK’s hopes of winning the tournament.
