Blacklist International plans to enter the Wild Rift esports scene. As one of the largest esports organizations in the Philippines, Blacklist International is a household name in Southeast Asia. They are a major force in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the most popular mobile MOBA in the region. Most recently, they have won the regional MPL Philippines as well as the M3 World Championship 2021. Finally, the organization has decided to expand into other gaming titles, and League of Legends: Wild Rift is looking to be its next frontier.
Tier One Entertainment co-founders announce supposedly future Wild Rift team
The possible introduction of the future Wild Rift team was done by the CEO and co-founder of Tier One Entertainment Inc., Irymarc “Tryke” Gutierrez and Alodia Gosengfiao respectively. For those of you who do not know, Tier One Entertainment Inc. maintains the Blacklist International esports team. During a vlog on 14th March, both of these founders were talking with each other and Tryke pointed to Alodia who was carrying a paper card that stated Blacklist Wild Rift team.
Tryke said that it was, “Dream ko talaga ‘to, matagal na (It’s been my dream for a while now).” He also mentioned that it was his dream to also have a DOTA team while “matagal na niya (Alodia) kinukulit yung Wild Rift Team (Alodia’s been pushing for a Wild Rift Team for a long time now)”.
Tryke revealed that the Blacklist International Wild Rift team will be launched with a partner. He also told that, “For the record, ang sinasabi namin, we’re going to have a team this year (For the record, what we’re saying is, we’re going to have a team this year)” and “because this year, it’s time to break the code”.
Other Filipino organizations are also entering the Wild Rift esports scene
Apart from Blacklist International, other Filipino organizations are also entering or planning to enter the Wild Rift esports scene in the region. There are many other newly formed Filipino organizations like Pacquiao.GG, founded by Manny Pacquiao, and Veloce Esports (Team Underground), who are currently the top team in the Wild Rift Champions SEA 2022 qualifiers in the Philippines. The entry of Pacquiao.GG and Blacklist International into the Wild Rift Esports scene shows that there is a lot of growth potential for the game in the region.
