In its Q3 2022 earnings, Krafton issued a press release, assuring fans about their continuous work behind the scenes to re-introduce the title. Here’s all you need to know regarding the latest update on BGMI unban.
The Government of India ousted BGMI from all virtual stores, citing security reasons (Data Migration to Chinese Servers). Eventually, the official confirmed that they had gone through loads of reviews and then came to the conclusion of barring the title. It was 28 July 2022 and more than three months had gone by with fans still awaiting its return. A few hours back, Krafton released the q3 2022 earnings, issuing a press release.
BGMI Unban Date – Krafton confirms the possible return of Battlegrounds Mobile India
On the possible unban, Krafton said, “ KRAFTON is continuing its efforts to resume services for BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) and will continue investing in the Indian games market.”
It’s completely understandable why the company is working tirelessly to bring back the title. Krafton has invested more than 100 million dollars in different companies with $22.5 million spending into NODWIN Gaming, one of the biggest esports companies in the country. The revenue from the mobile has experienced a further dip with the Q3 earnings falling by 26 percent year-over-year while the earnings fell by 12 percent quarter-over-quarter.
Over the past two years, GOI has banned many applications and websites primarily citing similar reasons. Access to these apps, however, was permanently restricted within a few days.
However, this isn’t the case with BGMI. The game can still be played, although it hasn’t gone through any update since July. The statement from Krafton seems to hint a step into the right direction. However, no timeline has been mentioned, which indicates that we are at least a few times away from its return.
