BGMI Removed: Battlegrounds Mobile India removed from Google Play Store

Krafton has recently hosted the Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown event where top teams from India battle to get an invite for PMWI 2022 Afterparty Showdown. 7SEA Esports emerged as the winner of the event and received an invite for the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022 Afterparty Showdown.

NGO asked the government to ban the game previously 

PRAHAR, a non-governmental organization that focuses on socioeconomic development, has asked the government to restrict BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India), claiming that it poses a security risk to India. It’s only been a few days since the country banned 54 mobile applications, including Garena Free Fire, one of the most popular mobile games in India. The abrupt suspension has wreaked havoc on the thriving mobile gaming industry, affecting both professional players and content creators.

In January 2022 Punjab Police Demanded Ban on ‘Dangerous’ Online Game BGMI- The Punjab Police Demand a Ban on PUBG Mobile, a ‘Dangerous’ Online Game. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile (PUBG Mobile), a popular online game deemed ‘dangerous’ by the Punjab police, may be banned in its entirety by the Punjab and federal governments. A spokesperson explained that the decision was made due to the tragic incident in Kahna last week in which a teen addicted to PUBG killed his mother and three siblings.

Krafton hasn’t released any statement yet on the matter.

Earlier today Google removed 50 apps following a malware spread. Here is list of banned apps.
