BGMI Paid Tournaments: Paid Battlegrounds Mobile India tournaments not permitted or allowed in India. With the growing popularity of Battlegrounds Mobile in India, its allied esports scene is also growing. As the esports scene grows, competition is bound to rise, thus, tournament organizers are staging paid competitions and making use of smartphone gaming apps.
PUBG Mobile, with its esports success in India, was once a huge deal. After Krafton put in a lot of work to relaunch the game in India, it developed a different version to suit local demand. BGMI is still relatively new, and there is a growing esports scene surrounding it too.
Several Indian organizations have revamped their rosters around veteran PUBG Mobile players and new, upcoming talent. While BGMI is still in its infancy, its esports scene has started to blossom. In addition, developers have lined up some events to kickstart esports, and Indian players are already practicing for them.
Abhijeet Andhare, a BGMI pro, posted an Instagram story on his story stating that “BGMI paid tournaments are not permitted, please don’t conduct them.” He also suggested that tournament organizers take this seriously. So as per Ghatak, tournament organizers in Battlegrounds Mobile India are not allowed to hold paid events.
A popular news network for esports asked Ghatak about some platforms that were hosting similar tournaments and Ghatak responded that those have also been removed. In all tiers of competition, tournament organizers provide scrims and practice matches, but some of the events offered to require registration fees. Additional prizes are also fixed for such kinds of events, which is apparently not an encouraging practice by the tournament organizers.
Krafton has not officially made a statement on whether to allow or ban paid BGMI tournaments therefore the developers of the game haven’t taken a definitive position on this subject yet.
