Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) just surpassed 100 million registered users, according to Krafton. This just solidifies the game’s reputation as one of, if not the most well-liked videogame in the nation, and one that is gaining ground every year. Following the country’s ban on Krafton’s PUBG Mobile, BGMI was published in July 2021. The success of the game has only increased since it launched when it gained a lot of buzzes and got off to a flying start. BGMI 100 Million Users
“BGMI’s first year has been a resounding success with millions of players joining to experience the game. We have brought in major tournaments, Indian themed collaborations, and celebrated India centric events with the community with a goal in curating a gameplay unique to our Indian users,” said Changhan Kim, CEO, KRAFTON, Inc. during his visit to India as BGMI gears up to celebrate its first anniversary.
He further added, “India is an important market for KRAFTON. We are positive about the opportunities in the country and are committed to create a robust gaming ecosystem. Our focus is pivoted towards constantly elevating the mobile gaming experience for our growing community and invest in the flourishing start-up landscape here”
This year has also been quite successful for the BGMI esports sector, with events like the BMOC and BMPS attracting huge audiences and displaying some of the top players in the nation. The game’s future is undoubtedly promising, and it appears that competition will continue to grow in size every year.
Fans had been waiting for the game for a while, so its first debut in July of last year was one of the largest gaming events in India. The most played videogame in India for years was PUBG Mobile, but in 2020 the nation outlawed it along with several other apps. Nearly $100 million was invested by Krafton in local video games, esports, and entertainment firms in India last year, including Nodwin Gaming and Loco.
