Are VTubers overtaking Female streamers on Streaming platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Kick? The popularity of VTubers are on a rise, as more and more viewers have come to like this genre of content creation. Now, that may or may not be positive news for many who are of the opinion that it’s only pushing real female streamers to take up VTubing.
One of the largest groups of streamers and creators in the online world today are virtual YouTubers, or VTubers as they are more commonly called. For those who are unfamiliar with the phrase, they are often content producers who engage with their audience through computer-generated avatars. Additionally, these creators don’t reveal their names or faces, or at least most of them don’t. Although the category was first introduced in 2010, it wasn’t until 2020 that its popularity truly took off.

According to the streamer, “Real girls are a thing of the past. I mean, the numbers don’t lie, gentlemen. It is what it is. Yep, VTubers took over.” He implied that this is only going to happen more frequently because VTubers’ popularity is continuing to skyrocket.
This rise in popularity isn’t shocking to many as they claim the stage should belong to those who evolve with time with their content creation. Many viewers are of the opinion that the content of most female streamers have gone stale, and VTubers like Pekora are really pushing the boundaries. Streamers who use their own names or faces are starting to take notice of the trend, which suggests that this decade will be one for the VTubers.
