Arc Raiders will be a Free-to-Play, open-world-style game. It is a third-person shooter multiplayer game, where players (called Raiders here), unite to fight against the ARC. They are mechanized beings that have descended onto the planet from space and are hunting down everyone.
Raiders will need to co-operate with each other and fight against the ARC. The open-world environment is a crucial factor in the playstyle. Raiders can scavenge for resources, use the terrain to their advantage, and also create useful gadgets to fight the large mechanical ARCs.
Made with Unreal Engine, the graphics of the game looks spectacular and breathtaking, similar to many top AAA games out now. From the gameplay trailer, one can see that fighting mechanics are quite new as Raiders can be seen using physics and the open-world environment to their advantage to fight the ARCs. They can also use the scavenged material to create tools and gadgets. With proper planning, these can play a crucial role in fights. The game is developed by Embark Studios that comprises past employees of EA and DICE who have worked in the Battlefield series. It will be published by the Korean gaming company, Nexon.
