Electronic Arts have announced the size of the prize pool for the Apex Legends Global Series – it will be $ 2.5 million. The company itself contributed only $ 1 million, and the rest was raised through the sale of in-game sets. The Apex Legends Global Series Championship is already underway for all regional majors, however, the prize money is still unknown to the players.
On May 22, the ALGS was unveiled with a $1 million prize fund. After some time, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment launched a crowdfunding effort to raise money for the Apex Legends Global Series Championship in 2021Â by purchasing bundles.
When a player purchases anything in the game, such as skins, battle passes, or anything else, 20% of the revenue is put into the prize pool.
Apex Legends introduced five new bundles on May 18: four 2,500 Apex coin packs and one giant bundle including the content of all bundles for 9,000 Apex coins. Apex Coins are a donation-based currency that may be bought in-game or through Origin. The participants had to spend between $31 and $104 to get the bundles.
