The raid was conducted by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism in Bucharest, or DIICOT. Tate has positioned himself as a self-help expert and gives advice on how to attract women and make money to his largely male admirers. However, his detractors labeled him an “extreme misogynist” and called for his banning due to viral recordings on many social media platforms.
The Tates reportedly established a webcam business in Romania, and Andrew Tate boasted that “40%” of the reason he relocated there was to avoid police surveillance. Police storming properties are seen in a video published by DIICOT, along with collections of vehicles, weapons, and money.
In Romania, where Andrew Tate currently resides, suspicions of human trafficking first surfaced in April 2022. Back then he denied any such claims and conveyed it as a case of swatting. He was later banned from most of social media platforms after outrage against him started pouring from all corners over his sexist and misogynist views.
Amidst Tate’s arrest, it is a matter of time before we come to know how the charges against him transpire and the punishment that awaits him.
