TNC began the Grand Finals with a win thanks to Tabios, who defeated Fnatic with the Templar Assassin. Thirty minutes into the game, TNC claimed their first victory. TNC believed that signature hero could win games in the Finals, so it drafted Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte’s Phantom Assassin. Although Fnatic dominated throughout the early game with their ChYuan and DJ pairing of Leshrac and Abaddon, the team lost due to mistakes. TNC found a way to come back and finish the game with Gabbi’s Phantom Assassin, streaking to 2-0.
Newly-reformed team Fnatic will enter The International 10 in August as SEA Qualifier winners after defeating TNC Predator in a fantastic three-game reverse-sweep 3-2. Fnatic dominated the primary three days of the TI Qualifiers as that they had not been defeated within the Upper Bracket Division to climb their high to the Grand Finals. Djardel “DJ” Mampusti and Ng “ChYuan” Kee Chyuan became the team’s key players to claim their dominating win against TNC 2-0. As TNC faced the team for the first time in the Upper Bracket finals.
The frustration and stress of the 8th and last game of the Qualifiers caught TNC by surprise. In their battle against Fnatic, Yang “Deth” Wu Heng’s Tidehunter turned out to be the final nail in the coffin as the team dominated the Grand Finals.
