Activision and developer Infinity Ward provided Call of Duty fans a small peek of this year’s game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare II will be the 2022 Call of Duty release, according to Infinity Ward, and will most likely be a sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty. While this is wonderful news for long-time Call of Duty fans who remember the original Modern Warfare 2, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the game. Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28th, according to a recent Tweet from the official Call of Duty Twitter account. In addition, the extravagant film clip revealed a few of the characters and possibly the cover art for the next sequel. Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which was released in 2019 and was Infinity Ward’s reboot of the sub-brand that began in 2007 with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the most successful Call of Duty game to date. Activision revealed the title and logo for the new Call of Duty in April, naming it (officially) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II to distinguish it from the 2009 game of the same name.
CoD veterans hold a particular place in their hearts for the original Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 2019 has a fantastic campaign full of exciting moments, and the sequel is sure to have fans on the edge of their seats. On October 28, fans may dive into the thrilling plot of Modern Warfare II.
