Now, these teams will travel to Gangneung for the Grand Finals of the 2022 LCK Summer. It will be like a rematch of the spring split grand finals as both of these teams had also qualified for it. That time, it was T1 who won the series. Let us see if T1 can repeat it or if Gen.G gets their revenge on them and win. Both teams have already qualified for Worlds 2022 with their combined championship points from the spring and summer splits.

Here is a look at the journey of both these teams in this summer split.

2022 LCK Summer Grand Finalst: Gen.G

Gen.G had an extraordinary journey in the summer split’s regular season. The team had dropped only one series against T1. They had a 17-1 record going into the playoffs.

Being the first seed, they got to choose their opponents in the semifinals. They selected Liiv SANDBOX and defeated them 3-1 to advance into the grand finals. Many predict that they have a higher chance of winning this split. The team has shown remarkable form and continues to play exceptionally well.

2022 LCK Summer Grand Finalist: T1

Although they did not have the unstoppable momentum of this year’s Spring Split, T1 was still a force to be reckoned with. The team lost only three games in the entire summer split, one against Kwangdong Freecs, one against Gen.G, and the last one against Liiv SANDBOX.

Still, the team showed brilliant performances in the regular season and advanced into the playoffs with a 15-3 score. In the playoffs, they got matched with DWG KIA and were able to beat them in an intense series, advancing into the grand finals.

Even under Faker’s leadership, the team still needs to prepare a lot if they want to take down Gen.G and win the summer split title.
