2022 DOTA 2 The International 11 Main Event Day 2: It was another day featuring only clean sweep victories – Fans were presented with one-sided series victories during The International 2022 Main Event Day 2. After losing today, Evil Geniuses and BOOM Esports were the two teams to get eliminated from the ongoing DOTA 2 tournament.

Let us look at the recap of today’s matchups.

2022 DOTA 2 The International 11: Main Event Day 2

UPPER BRACKET – ROUND 1
  • TUNDRA ESPORTS VS OG
    • The first game was a completely one-sided beatdown by Tundra. OG was never able to make a comeback and hence lost within 25 minutes. In the second game, OG had a huge early game lead but Tundra made a comeback to win the game.
  • TEAM LIQUID VS TEAM ASTER
    • In both matches, we saw a similar pattern. Liquid took a lead over during the early to mid-game. Unfortunately, they lost crucial team fights allowing Aster to bounce back just before the late game began. From there, Aster snowballed and registered back-to-back victories.
LOWER BRACKET – ROUND 2
  • EVIL GENIUSES VS BEASTCOAST
    • It was the unlikely upset that no one foresaw. Beastcoast surprised EG with their unique drafts in both games. The top team from Group A did not have an answer for this and hence they were completely stomped. Beastcoast won its two matches dominantly, staying alive in the tournament.
  • PSG.LGD VS BOOM ESPORTS
    • Although BOOM managed to knock out The International 10 champions yesterday, they could not reproduce the results against the runner-ups. We saw the clinical playstyle from PSG.LGD as they won the first game one-sidedly while also making a comeback in the next one.

Winning their series in the Upper Bracket Round 1, Tundra and Aster will now face each other in the Upper Bracket Round 2. OG and Liquid fell down to the lower bracket where they will face Gaimin Gladiators and Entity respectively.

Beastcoast and PSG.LGD will advance after winning their lower bracket series and will face each other in the Lower Bracket Round 3. After losing in the lower bracket, Evil Geniuses and BOOM Esports’ journey at the DOTA 2 The International 11 ends here.

On Main Event Day 3, teams will give their all to stay alive and advance further in the tournament. Stay tuned to get more of such latest updates from the ongoing 2022 DOTA 2 The International 11 tournament.
